WEEKLY RECAP
Understanding the Books of the bible
Hello brethren It’s been a while, and I have missed you all a lot.
I bring greetings from my family here in Accra and beyond.
I’m beginning a new approach to writing as I challenge myself to read the entire Bible through a fresh perspective.
Picture this: I grab an old pair of glasses, give them a quick puff of air to clean the lenses, and suddenly, everything comes into focus. Now I can clearly see what the text is all about.
I share this to let you know that we’ll be exploring the Hebrew text of scriptures together, using a new system I recently learned from my pastor.
The TANAKH system of reading the scriptures.
We would read the books of the Torah (Teaching/Law), the prophet (Nevi’im), the writings (Ketuvim), and the History
Every week we would send summaries of chapters read in this Chronology;
TORAH- GENESIS TO DEUTERONOMY
PROPHET - JOSHUA TO MALACHI
WRITINGS - Wisdom Literature: Psalms, Proverbs, Job.
Five Scrolls (Megillot): Song of Songs, Ruth, Lamentations, Ecclesiastes, Esther.
Historical Works and Reflections: Daniel, Ezra-Nehemiah, Chronicles.
I almost forgot to tell you why we are doing this. There are just 3 reasons:
To help you grasp God’s plan and understand the key messages the authors of scripture intended to convey.
To show you how people overcame the challenges of daily life by trusting in God, even with limited understanding.
In worship to God, we are looking for He said.
See you this weekend As we go through the word of life together.
TORAH- Genes 1-3
PROPHET - Joshua 1-5
WRITINGS - Wisdom Literature: psalm 1-2
Five Scrolls: Song of Songs 1-2
Historical Works and Reflections: Daniel 1-6
See you guys later.
